Hey all, I am currently almost done filling out the application, but I was wondering if there is anywhere I should put that I am planning to do a masters program during my year off.

Also wondering if anyone else has done a masters/or planning to during their year off.

Thanks!

Hey, what you have to do is add your Master's school as an institution and add your courses as planned coursework.

I'm also doing a Master's in my year off and I'm currently debating whether I should submit my application now with the intention of going to Rutger's program (if I get into Boston OHS then I will edit the courses during academic update) or if I should just wait for Boston's response

Yeah I'm also in the same boat. I'm going to be doing the Rutgers MS program and I dont know where to add the program only place i can see is the what am I doing differently this cycle.

I'm going into a Masters program and called AADSAS to ask about how this info should be inputted. They said if I know the coursework (course codes and titles), then I should put it in now, but only if a transcript can also be requested from the school. However, since I haven't started there yet and don't know the exact details, the coursework should be inputted during the academic update period (Dec-Jan. I believe) so that a transcript can also be requested at the time. Currently, I wouldn't be able to request one because of course, I haven't started so there's nothing for the school to provide them with. But it's a good idea to mention it in the PS so schools know what you're up to in the next year. Hope that helps!

I did the same last year and put it under "planned coursework", even if you dont know the exact classes you will be taking you should contact some current students (on FB or whatever) and figure it out. not everyone will look at your PS so its silly to only list it there. you absolutely should put it under future coursework even if you are kind of guessing that you will take say "gross anatomy", "immuno" and "physio" etc. so they know you are taking grad classes. then just update it in december. this is what got me in this cycle!

But if you put the school name and courses under planned coursework, don't you also have to then request an official transcript from the school? If you haven't already started at the school, how do you get around this part?

put it under your future coursework for fall of 2015, i forgot what it was called i think "planned coursework" or something similar. its in the same place where you manually type in all your past courses/grades and select when they were completed. so for the planned coursework you just put the name of the course and summer/2015, fall/2015 and spring/2016

then you just send the official transcript during the academic update in decemeber
