So here's my story--

I switched from being a pre-med student (so all the hardcore math and science classes) to a psych major. I was pre-med for two years, and let's just say that my grades came up less than stellar. However, once I switched over to psych, my grades improved a lot. I was also facing family and health issues along the way, so I guess this contributed to my lacking performance my first couple of years.

I'll be honest, my Overall GPA is about a 2.4 and my major (psych) GPA is 3.3 so far. I haven't yet taken the GRE's, so we'll see how that goes.

My endgoal is to get into a PhD/PsyD program, but I want to do a Master's program first to boost grades (if any school even accepts me!!) Any advice? I know I really screwed up academically my first two years, but I'll do anything to improve and show schools that I am more than some of the poor grades I received. Thanks!

Coordinate with the school of your choice that offers the program you want to get into. You need to build a relationship with them so that they can give you a roadmap of what needs to be done.

Thanks 🙂 I'll do that. I guess it sort of helps that my grades are on an upward trend and the bad grades I received aren't related to my major at all.
