hey im looking into going into a straight one year master's program. I feel this is a better option to the G-town SMP or the other post-bac programs. what do you think? Does anyone have any first hand experience? A lot of schools have one year microbio or some kind of biology program. (i.e. U of Illinois). Do you think this is will better my chances of getting into a medical school later on? Undergrad was like a 3.1/3.0. Please let me know. Thanks for all your help.

I certainly dont claim to know what adcoms think, but it seems to me that if your goal is to get into medical school as soon as possible you should just do the smp type programs.... unless you are interested in the other master programs ( like u enjoy neuro or microbio or something and u wanted to do research). if you just want to improve your credentials specifically for medical school, it seems logical that taking actual medical school courses would look much better than taking graduate courses. just my 2 cents.
