If I ranked both categorical and prelim gen surg spots and just get a "congratulations you matched" email does that mean I matched into categorical?

Does it say "matched fully"? Or did they do away with that wording? If it didn't say "you matched prelim but not advanced" then you should be fine.

Doesn't say "fully" just congratulations you have matched and not eligible for SOAP.

I was confused by this as well. I applied to cat and adv anesthesia. Im guessing if i matched advanced and a trans/prelim, then it would still say the same thing. I dont think I can know if its cat or adv unless I was partially matched

I think you're right, I'm in the same boat

What if someone interviewed for two types of programs with one as a backup e.g. trans/derm and internal medicine? Would applicants know which specialty they matched into?

No.

The options are either 1) You matched 2) You partially matched 3) You didn't match.
