I will do it if you guys want. To improve on the past ones and to help others for the future, please email the name, year of graduation from med. school, med. school attended, additional advanced degrees, college attended, other fellowships/residencies completed, program that the person matched at, and whether the position was obtained in Match or out of Match (and if so, whether pre or post-Match),

Okay...so far, we've come up w/ some additional fields. Question for all...should we leave in fields for people to report step I and II scores, or are most people just going to not enter that stuff -- there's matchapplicants, but most people don't use that website. Having such a correlation would be useful for helping people figure out what programs they might be competitive at in the future.

Here's a prototypical form for the database which will allow us to do analyses, etc. We've included additional info. for things like AOA status, # of publications (not necessarily derm -- should we have derm specific??), Step I and Step II scores. We realize that a lot of people probably WON'T include these data, so they are optional. Does anyone have suggested edits to the data fields before the database goes live?

We would ask that people please use the attached form (or a variant iteration, if we make subsequent changes due to input from y'all) to submit responses. Please do NOT include abstracts in the publications section, as many PDs do not count abstracts when evaluating applications.

EDIT: UPDATE -- Sorry about the inability to save the PDF data in the previous PDF that was posted. We have added a new button in the TOP RIGHT of page ONE that allows you to SAVE the form data to an XML file.

UPDATED INSTRUCTIONS: Please fill out the following template w/ as much as you're willing to (we don't expect people to fill out step I and II scores, but it's helpful if they want to so we can help future applicants)! Hit "Submit by email" in the TOP RIGHT of page one and choose Internet email (yahoo/hotmail). The program will prompt you to save the data to a file (you can't actually save the form itself). Send us the XML data file that is generated. Thanks!

WE MAY LATER ON SEND AN EMAIL TO PEOPLE ASKING IF THEY WISH TO TALK TO OTHERS WHO MATCHED AT THEIR PROGRAM, AND IF SO, THE EMAIL ADDRESSES WOULD BE SHARED.

Keep the XML files coming...they are easy to import and compile into a spreadsheet. Thanks to those that are entering more detailed info. including your step scores. We realize that many may NOT want to do this, but it's great for those of you that are willing to share this.

This attachment will be continuously updated. Due to a "bug" in the exportation/compiling feature, the "Years spent in Fellowship" (if applicable) is in the very LAST column. The data are saved as a Microsoft Excel compatible .csv file. Open the ZIP and then double click the .csv file.

If you redistribute, please give credit to the original source (SDN/here). Thanks!

I'm getting all of your responses as well and keep it coming. I think pupster's way or reporting is the new helpful way to do things. This is the sort of thing that SDN should be doing for each other to pave the way for future applicants....

We really do prefer that you use the forms because of the ability to database everything so quickly. The more replies we get, the faster we can get the compiled info to you, and truly the form takes no time to complete. Please let us know who you co-residents will be and where they are from for med school if you know this (basically I'm seconding pupster's request from above).

Thanks for the note, Dermathalon 🙂. FYI, Dermathalon is working on trimming the public data file and creating a "lighter" version that mimics the previous Excel spreadsheets (i.e. w/out as much data). He'll post that in another post here.

Ogo, nice to meet you too 🙂. People are probably in post-match euphoria for now and prolly many haven't signed into sdn. Whatever the reason, people are just not sending in their info and that's why I put up the extra note asking. Thanks to all of those that have submitted their info and the info for their classmates and future co-residents.

Here is the match list to date and we need more people to submit...

UPDATE: PLEASE SUBMIT FULL NAMES WHEN YOU DO SO THAT I CAN PUT IT ON THE LIST...I don't want to use just first names or just last names. Thanks everyone!
