matched advanced neuro and no prelim...any advise from your experience?

hey guys.
matched advanced neuro but no luck with prelim Still...
anyone who's gone through this in past....ANY ADVISE?
...where would one look for outside of match open prelim positions, or perhaps off cycle positions????

any comments, suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Did you scramble and still not get a spot? Now that the scramble is over, you should probably contact your med school home program if they have a prelim year. It may also be benefecial to call the neuro program where you matched. It's in their interest to get you an internship, so they may be able to lend a hand. Good luck.

thanks for your reply. i did give it my best shot with the scramble and still no luck. it was absolutely nuts, i dont wish it upon anyone. as for PD i will contact and hopefully speak to today, not sure if they'll be able to accomadate me in any way, since the im spots filled during match at the hospital...

any more suggestions always greatly appreciated.

I know a couple of people in similar situation. Just wonder how many neurology applicants got matched in adv. but no preliminary.

I had categorical programs ranked lower. Had I knew......

To be completely honest I don't think this is the best forum to get your information. Have you looked into the "Internship, residency, fellowship openings" forum, the "internship" forum, or the "general residency" forum? Those would be better bets for you than the neurology forum imho.

how about our fello neurology residents...or those doing their prelims right now....any insight into pgy1 prelim openings? or possibility of openings in near future?

(thank you for the suggestiong to look on the "opening" and "Im" and "internship" sections of the sdn forum🙂...have been doing so, but no luck thus far)
