anyone else have this problem? my test is in 2 weeks, i haven't taken a Topscore yet but if it's anything like math destroyer, i'm dead. i skimmed through Chad's videos within the last few weeks, do you guys think i should spend what little time i have left going through chad's again?

just keep doing math destroyer slowly. it'll click after a lot of practice problems!

Don't be too discouraged by math destroyer. I'll admit, it's pretty difficult since they ask you tough questions in a set amount of time. TopScore QR was definitely easier than math destroyer. I would say that TopScore QR is much like the real DAT QR. The benefit of working through math destroyer slowly is that you'll be able to solve tough problems more quickly, culminating in you speeding through the QR section of the real DAT. That's the point of math destroyer- to help students build their speed in the QR section while also learning the most important math concepts for it. Most people have trouble with QR because they run out of time.

I was never able to finish on time for all the 40-question-tests in the MATH Destroyer book. Using it will allow you to find out the type of problems that you can solve quickly, and the types of problems that take you awhile to solve. On the DAT, I skipped the hard problems that takes me awhile to solve, and went back over them when I had some time at the end.

QR to me is all about Return On Investment (ROI). I am investing time (45minutes to be exact), and I am hoping for the highest return in the form of "questions answered correctly". I had to break down my prideful attitude where I thought I can solve every problem... given enough time.
Taking 5 minutes to solve a hard problem is great, but you've only earned 1 point. To me I could make use of that 5 minutes better by solving 5-6 questions and earning 5-6 points. I dunno that's just my philosophy regarding QR.

Good luck with your test!

If you need help with any math problems, I can help you. I'm reviewing math right now freestyle (materials have not arrived), but I'd say I'm 7/10 through my review material and just need to do practice tests. Just send me the problem, and I'll work it out step by step and throw in some pointers/tips if there are any.
