Hey all,

So my DAT is coming up in 5 days, and I have barely studied MATH.

I plan on spending ALL DAY tomorrow "knocking out" Math Destroyer, and hopefully I will have some time to review it at the end of the day.

Should I be fine with a 12-hour MATH DESTROYER STUDY SESSION?

Good luck tomorrow 🙂 12 hours of math is ouch

But if you put alot of hours into math for the next 4-5 days... I think you might be okay... it also depends on your math background.... If your one of those you always hated math, maybe 1 full day isn't enough. If you've always liked math, then... who knows, it might be enough....

One thing I know about math section is its not just about how much you studied, its about how many problems you mastered.... The more you master the higher you'll score. Now do you think 12 hours will get you to do enough problems? only u can answer this

Your situation sounds similar to mine. I didn't start math until around a week before my exam and just went through Destroyer. I would suggest just doing as much as you can in a day. It is useless studying for 12 hours if the last few hours you don't remember anything. I would suggest going pretty slow for the first bits and then pick up your pace. I say this because I know the first few pages I went through and was like "wow, I do not remember any of this stuff." After you have kind of refreshed your memory with the first few pages, things seem to come back a little easier. Hope this helps. Good luck!

5 days x 12h = 60 hours of math. That's not bad. If you can master the destroyer in those 5 days and understand the concepts you should be in good shape.
good luck

good luck with that i mean if you have a good background in math you should be fine but those problems are tough man atleast they were for me i would wanna spend more time than that but if you can get thru all those problems in the destroyer and understand them u shud be fine for ur dat cuz thats the only thing that will save you in math nothing else really.

Unfortunately I felt compelled to review/maximize my science/PAT skills the last fews days.

My Test is on Thursday. So tomorrow (Wednesday), Im going to cram as much Math as I possibly can. I probably wont get a great score, but Im really hoping I get a good enough score, especially since alot of the arithemetic, formulas, etc will be fresh in my head.

Based on the forum posts I have gauged that some important areas of focus for the Math section are:

1) Knowing the Farenheit/Celsius formula
2) Probability and Statistics
3) Knowing most of the U.S. conversions for feet, inches, etc.
4) Knowing as Many Trig Identities as possible
5) Knowing the Unit Circle trig thing

Any other areas I should pay particular attention to. Areas in which DAT takers have had "I hate myself for not reviewing that math topic more" moment?

the most important thing you can do is get the easy ones right. it sounds like a no brainer but a good deal of the math is just arithmetic, areas, volumes, interest rates, profits, mph, distances and stuff like that which usually isn't all that difficult. i think its always smart to skip the hard questions then go back. that way you aren't in a situation with 10 left and 5 mins to go.

i'm kind of dumb when it comes to math and it seems like i can pull an 18, sometimes better, just using that method.

You can miss quite a few in order to get a 18. I think it's 11 to get a 20, 15-16 to get get a 16+ or something like that.

dont worry i studied only 3 hrs pulled a 19. Math is not hard. but b/c of time you need to skip like annoying problems even though they are easy to solve such as 1.06^22, etc... you dont want to be their trying to figure out the answer to that question and waste 5 min. just educated guess, mark and move on.

Memorize the area or 2d & 3d of basic shapes.
