I can't wrap my head around this one. How many Rubik's cubes, 3 inches a side, can be shipped in a regular crate that is 1 foot by 2 feet by 3 feet?

I know that we divide the volume of the crate by the volume of the cubes
Dr. Romano calculated the V crate as this (1x12) (2x12) (3x12). Why isn't it (1x2x3)???
I appreciate any insight!

We multiply by 12 because the dimension of the small cube are given in inches.

I am rusty on math. Here is question 10: if -2≤x ≤ 4 and -3 ≤ y ≤ 2, what is the smallest possible value of x-y?
question 11: if -2≤x ≤y and -3 ≤y ≤ 2, what is the smallest possible value of (x-y)^2?
