for the math destroyer can/should I use a calculator and also should I time myself or is it like the dat destroyer where it tells you these problems should be answered with no time limit?

Have a calculator available for use, but try to minimize using it unless you need to add up lots of individual terms. Same thing on the DAT.

Regarding timing, I did the first few without timing just to get a feel for the types of questions, and then when I felt comfortable, I did the remaining tests under timed conditions. This helped me get a sense of pacing.

Don't use an actual calculator. use the one on your computer, preferably ones on windows 7.
