"A roulette wheel consists of 38 slots. 36 of these are
numbered 1 through 36 and colored red or black so
that there are nine red even-numbered slots, nine black
odd-numbered slots, etc."
I don't understand this problem.
I never played roulette but picture from google shows that there are alternation between red and black.
so if there are 36 slots, there should be 18 red and 18 black slots.
why does this problem say there are only 9 red and 9 black slots?
edit: nvm, i think i got it.
In roulette, there are 9 even red, 9 odd red, 9 even black, and 9 odd black. The problem maker was just too lazy to write the other two down so a casino noob got confused 🙂
