This is from an email my pre med advisor sent me. It didn't quite seem right, but if it is, yay.

American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine Applciation Service (AACOMAS)
- Does not include math in the science GPA.
Science GPAs- include Biology/Zoology, Biochemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Other Science, and Physics.
Non-science GPAs- include Behavioral Science, English, Math, and Other Non-science
Clinical science classes would be classified on case by case basis. Using the examples provided, classes like Clinical Chemistry and Clinical Microbiology would be classified as Chemistry and Biology respectively.

I wanted to run it by y'all. Thanks!

It is correct. All of this can be found on AACOMAS website.

So those two Cs in algebra and calculus don't pull down my sGPA?

You can start inputting your grades into AACOMAS. It will calculate your cGPA and sGPA for you.

Of course they do. The C's in math aren't counted in your science GPA, which is why they will affect your science GPA.

What?
Sorry. That was a rather daft question.

That's great, then. That helps my sGPA tremendously.
Thanks, y'all.

Yea unfortunately for me I had A's in all my math classes so that pulled up my sGPA for AMCAS lol I hate math, but I'm good at it. Oh well!

I'm wondering why DO don't count math in sGPA.
What classes falls under Behavioral Science?

I suppose they want to emphasize the natural sciences.

All your psych classes are "behavioral science". Some of them, like neuropsychology or abnormal psych may or may not be counted as "sciences" by AACOMAS.
