two person can complete a job in 10 days. if one person tries to complete the job by taking a day rest after every 5 days of work, how long does it take him to finishe the job?
answer is 23, 😕

1 person working full time takes them 20 days

But this person is working 5 taking 1 day off

so 5+1=6
then 5+1=6
so far we have 10 units of work done in 12 days
5+1=6
We now have 15 units done in 18 days
+5 more days of work to finish the last 5 units = 23 days.

The rest day at the end of the week need not be counted as its a rest day after the work was finished.

yea, or you can reason it out by..

5 days - 1 rest - 5 days - 1 rest - 5 days - 1 rest - 5 days.

So there are 3 days he rest for every 5 days he work. (4x5) + (1x3) = 23
