math ratio problem

If Andy and Becky income are 3:2 ratio. Their expense are in 5:3 ratio. Andy saves $100 while Becky expense is $30. What is Andy's income?

A: 150. How?

Becky's expense is 30 with a 5:3 ratio. Hers is the 3 so that means you multiply the ratio by 10 (3*10 = 30). So Andy's expense is 50. If he saves 100 that means his income is 50 + 100 = 150.

Nice work Street! The wording was really throwing me off, but the problem was obviously pretty simple. The ratios werent a problem, I was just thinking too hard and didnt realize income = expense + amt saved.

Anyway, Im still gonna hit you up for some help on a few quesions if you dont mind. Prolly next week, since math is the last thing im doing before my DAT july 19 👍
