Hello,

Question about the math requirement for med schools. I took the AP test in high school for Calc B/C and passed out of 2 quarters of math in college. I've taken 1 quarter of calculus in college, and 1 quarter of statistics. Do I need another quarter of math to complete the requirement? How do schools view AP credit for math?

Thanks

All schools vary on this req.

Some accept 1 yr of calc and 1 yr of statistics/or 2 yr of calc.

Check out the school requirements. But, most of the time you can fulfill the req with college algebra or above with most schools.

As the above poster noted, there is a lot of variability in how schools deal with AP credits. If you have a list of schools that you're interested in applying to, you should contact them individually and see what their recommendations are.

Substitute year for semester and we're good. If you needed 2 years of calculus you'd have a medical school class entirely of engineers and mathematicians.
