A friend of mine just told me that there are no calculators allowed on the MCAT. So my question is how much math is on the MCAT that would require complex calculations done by hand? I just bought my Kaplan study books and I'm waiting for summer to dive into them so forgive the ignorance, I just don't know exactly what's on the MCAT. I'm hoping some of you have taken it before and can give some Insight.

Thank you!

I think the Kaplan books have a good section at the end of the physics review book on quick math. You can use approximations because the MCAT generally won't give you answer choices that are really close to each other if there is a hard calculation involved. You generally also won't be doing long, complex calculations but rather quick mathematical manipulations.
