math

seriously,
review your pure math 30 from gr 12 if you still have them. It's SUPER easy. I scored the highest on that part. Just keep an eye on the time though, and skip questions that you can't get in under 30 seconds, and come back to them later. You'll be FINE! It's really high school word problems, some trig, so about that, just know your right angle triangles. Eg. If you have a triangle with the two sides that border the 90 degree angle that are 3 and 4 units respectively, what is the length of the last side? (5) that way you can plough through those questions.

I thought the math was really easy, too. I didn't study any math and hadn't taken math in 2 years when I took the OAT, and I scored very high on that section. Not difficult, just watch your time like the other poster said.

I gotta say I disagree. I found the math to be the hardest part, EASILY the hardest part. I scored lowest on that section.

Take the advice of the other posters: Time is a HUGE factor, specifically for this section moreso than the others.

I found it much harder than the practise test on the OPTED site. My strong advice is this: Don't panic. When I was writing I was skipping ALOT of questions, and I didn't get back to most of them and 'educated guessed' the rest --- and I still did fairly ok.

This is entirely empirical but I think that this section is alot more forgiving in terms how many you can get wrong and still get a high mark.

do you even need a calculator??

are the answers so basic that you won't get funny decimals or anything??

Definitely the easiest section because you don't have to study for it. Just do a couple of practice exams and you can get perfect. No calculator allowed, you have to use your brain as a calculator though, and you need to work very fast.

No funny decimals, as far as I remember. Anything with pi, even, worked out perfectly using just 3.14 I think.
