From ADAs free sample RC problem # 9.

9.A rectangular room is 3 meters wide, 4
meters long and 2 meters high. How far is
it from the northeast corner at the floor to
the southwest corner at the ceiling?


I think im brainfreezing...

Answer: sqr 29 m.

Answer: sqr 29 m.

Basically you have to find the distance from say bottom left corner to the top right farther corner of a 3D rectangular box...

The simplest way to do this is Distance = sqrt (L^2+w^2+H^2)...

So the distance in this case will be Sqrt (4^2+3^2+2^2) = Sqrt(16+9+4) = sqrt(29)

There is an algebraic way to solve this too but that would need more explanation and more confusion...
