I've read their requirements & stuff multiple times, but I had the impression that Mayo Clinic's ortho program only takes applicants who have already completed dental school and have taken both Part I & Part II. They also want people who have done AEGD/GPR. Can someone tell me if this is true? I'm confused. I don't think I meet their high standards, but will still like to apply if I can.

Can someone please share more info about the Mayo program? It seems like a very strong clinical program and does lots craniofacial cases.

Thanks!

last years resident and this years incoming resident both came right out of dental school.

Totally correct @ Incisivepapilla.
And neither residents did an AGED/GPR.

Thanks for the info everyone! Now I have another question. What's the advantage of doing ortho in a hospital setting? I guess obviously the interaction working with the craniofacial team and more surgical cases. Do most people have preference of regular school-based ortho or hospital based?

I never thought about applying to those hospital centers just because I don't know any better. But now I've checked out some website info, thinking they look amazing.

Do they usually more difficult to get in because they take 1-2 people a year?
