Mayo clinic

I spent a month in September and understood 22 magnets are in use. And when you consider that they're the same magnets that other systems can get ahold of in, say, 2008, you know why the Mayo finds the stuff they do.

why does a place like mayo get so much money? reputation? 'the rich get richer idea'? people flock to mayo and give money to it bc they have a 'reputation'?

if tha'ts the case why don't others have that type of influence. are there only a limited number of places that can ever be 'great'?

Other places are doing well too - San Diego justbought something like 8 state-of-the art clinical magnets (and has better known basic MRI scientists).
