What do you suppose is the optimal method to get to Rochester from the Minneapolis airport? Fly? Bus? Taxi?

I have considered flying, but the airfares (at least during the times I proposed) were atrociously high. The bus route appears to quite restrictive, in that there is only one bus leaving from Minnesota per day. And I'm not sure if any taxi would travel the 1.5 hr trip from Minnesota to Rochester.

Thoughts?

I used to live in the twin cities and I went to college near there as well. The cheapest way to get to Rochester is take the Rochester shuttle (www.rochesterdirect.com), and is $45 for a round trip. It is super expensive to fly into Rochester, and a cab will run you probably about $150 (they will take you there though). There are around 10 shuttles/day that pick up at the Lindbergh terminal (the main terminal - the only ones that typically don't fly in there are Sun Country, Midwest air, other budget airlines -- so basically all main airlines go into the Lindbergh terminal) and drop off at the Kahler hotel (which is extremely close to Mayo, and the hotels they give discounts at when you interview). There are I think other lines that will take you there, but Rochester Direct shuttle is what I would suggest.

I lived in MN for 6 years, and I interviewed at Mayo last year, so PM me if you have other questions. Hopefully this helps...
