I just got my MCAT scores back today and it is in the low 20's. I'm going to retake on July 30, and my scores will be posted on September 1st. I scored a 34,31, and 29 total on the practice exams, so I believe my score today was nerves. My application is now finished. Should I submit the application before Sept. 1st when my MCAT scores are posted? Someone told me schools will not wait for the second MCAT even when it is listed in AMCAS that I will be retaking. Is this true?

Also, with a 3.51 GPA and 3.47 BCMP, what MCAT score would I need to be competetive for a MD program. I am also applying to 4 DO programs.

The school will wait for your newest MCAT score if you indicated it on your AMCAS application that you will retake your MCAT. So you should submit your mcat before Sept 1 because it takes time to verify your application.

I think you need a score above a 30 to be competitive since you GPA is below avg

good luck

You can also just apply to one school to get your AMCAS verified, then you can apply the the remaining schools when you get your new score.
