i've been looking for some input. what do people think regarding taking the summer (late june/early july) mcat and applying at that point. is that too late?

Perhaps you should have been as aggressive in scheduling an early MCAT as you were in responding to multiple threads with the same question! 😀

For real though, it's all going to depend on your secondaries. I think taking the MCAT in July is fine, as long as you're ready to submit your primary app as soon as your score is released, and then you jump on your secondaries as soon as they come in; this may or may not be possible for you during classes, as I found it very stressful to be writing secondaries at the same time as I was in class. But you won't be at a competitive advantage, I don't think, as long as you're not submitting your secondaries in October.
