What preparation did you do?
So, let me start off by saying that I am an average student with a pretty average GPA (3.71 at time of application, 3.5 science). I scored a 522, which is the 99th percentile.

I used a combination of personal study using my Altius review book, Anki flashcards that I made (with spaced repetition), group study, personal tutor, and practice tests. I also supplemented with videos from Khan Academy. These are all strategies that were part of my Altius program (I used Gold, but I know of others who have used their other programs successfully, too.

I used the 10 Altius practice tests and the 3 AAMC practice tests. The three AAMC ones were all within four points of my actual score, but I took them at the end of my study period. I found the Altius tests gave me a slightly lower score than the AAMC ones, but they felt basically the same when I was taking them in terms of the types of questions they asked. I can't say about any other companies' materials because I only used the Altius/AAMC.

Honestly, take timing and practice tests seriously, and begin your study early. Make MCAT your priority for as long as you study, and be willing to push back the test a little if you're not prepared. I don't recommend trying to study in just 1 or 2 months. I studied about 15-25 hours a week for about 9 months. I struggle with science/math more than the average pre-med, I think, so slightly less could be sufficient for some people. Base it off your needs and your performance on practice tests.

If you want a good score so you can get into a good school, plan ahead. Take an extra year if you need to. My score has gotten me admitted as an out of state applicant to a Texas school (with 90% of seats reserved for in-state) on the first day of admission decisions. My GPA is not what did it. My killer MCAT score did. Anyone can get this score if they work for it, and if they study effectively.

ALSO: REGISTER EARLY (OCTOBER 25th for 2019) SO YOU CAN GET A SPOT WHERE YOU WANT.
