Hello,

I will be graduating this semester with a cGPA of 3.31 and a sGPA of 3.1, with an increasing trend my last two years, going from a 2.9 sGPA to a 3.7 sGPA. I'm aware that some GPA repair is necessary to at least show that I'm able to maintain this level of grades for an extended period of time. But I was wondering if I should spend my time after graduation to study and take the MCAT before starting a post bacc year or applying for a SMP?

My ECs are:
~2000 hours with 3 publications in research (non-clinical)
~ 100 hours of Shadowing Emergency Medicine Physician, 25 hours of Shadowing Oncologist
~Leadership position (Treasurer) for campus volunteer org
~250 hrs of non-clinical volunteering
~aiming to continue clinical experience during gap year, ending with maybe 1000+ hours
~lots of miscellaneous interests such as music programs, with leadership in majority

Any feedback?

Your ECs are great. If the majority of your post bacc classes are relevant to the MCAT I'd wait until you're nearly done with the post bacc. Schools also have MCAT scores expire in 2-3 years so keep that in mind when making a decision.

Excellent plan, and I don't think that you need an SMP.

You have great Ecs and a solid upward trend. SMP may be unnecessary
