I know most schools do not accept your MCAT if it is 3 years past the test date(some I think are even 2 years), but does this mean I would have to BE in medical school at most three years from May 5th (my test date) for my MCAT to not be expired, or do I need to APPLY three years from May 5th?

1) some schools will not accept after 2 years
2) schools set their own policy so it may be from submitting application, to being reviewed, to be accepted, to starting
3) you have to contact each school to find out
I took my MCAT may 5th of this year and am planning on taking a gap year (I will be applying the cycle of 2019-2020). The only problem I would have then would be if the school only takes MCAT scores that are within a 2 year period of actually beginning medical school. Are there any schools that you can think of that has this two combinations of duration/time period?

No worry needed
Great, thanks gonnif, I've been trying to search on MSAR about the latest MCAT schools accept but it's only giving me the years and not the circumstance (by application submission, by acceptance, by first day of med school). I'm just worried because I spent so much time studying and don't want that going to waste, but I'll take your advice and not worry about it!
