Hello Everyone,

I am a non traditional applicant, have 2 years of optometry school under my belt and several years of postbac work. I have been studying for the MCAT (part time) for about 3-4 months now and have covered almost all content. I have been practicing as I go but want to solidify the information this last month and dont know if I should get Chads Prep or Informing Future Doctors (IFD) book. They are both around the same price but I am having trouble choosing between the two. I have used Chads prep for the OAT so I know it works for my brain but IFD does seem really helpful. Please let me know your thoughts!

for reference I have been using the princeton review books + UWORLD questions + amc question packs

I would focus on just doing practice problems and full length tests. I grinded out those practice problems during the last month and it turned out pretty well. If you've basically gone over all the content, I think buying a prep book would kind of be a waste of money. Obviously you know what's best for you tho!

I've never heard of those two resources. What is your MCAT exam date? If you are within 2 months of your exam date you should be doing almost exclusively practice problems + practice exams. If you have 10+ weeks before your exam date, buy some blueprint practice exams + the AAMC practice exams and evenly space them out between now and your exam date, about 1 week apart. Between each practice exam, review your questions, identify your weak points in terms of knowledge, and do practice problems to address those weak points. Take what you have left of UWORLD and AAMC practice questions and try to space them evenly between now and your exam date while prioritizing your weakest subjects.

Save the AAMC Section Bank until you are closer to your exam date.

For CARS do a few passages each day with Jack Westin and your AAMC material as you get closer to exam date. Jack Westin also has multiple free full lengths that I have not explored but are good practice if you have not yet taken a full length.

Good luck!
