Hello everyone, I am planning to take the mcat in May I have the Kaplan and EK books. Aside from AAMC practice test and practice material, what would be some useful practice material? I am more of a practical learner thats how I learn best I have to do questions about the things I do content review in order to firmly grasp them! The questions in the book are not enough, I was thinking of getting the Kaplan qbank for extra practice. Opinions? Thanks!

I used primarily EK, Khan Academy, and the AAMC practice exams. I did use some Kaplan and NextStep resources (what I could get for free) and, while it was good to have extra practice, I found they were hit-or-miss in terms of how well they reflected actual MCAT passages. Honestly I think Khan Academy is one of the best resources, especially since it's free.

Just checked it out; $199 for 90 days... what makes Uworld high yield?
Questions are difficult and similar to AAMC.
UWorld is king with answer explanations. They provide easy to follow but detailed descriptions in explanations with figures. I used thier figures for my anki cards. They were so high yeild and i can attribute most of my success from those explanations and figures.

Uworld also knows how to truly test knowledge of information. There has been several instances where i thought i understood a topic but uworld provided me a question that helped me understand the true details.

I used nextstep and uworld and i'd say uworld helped me way more with not just practice but LEARNING of material. Uworld is not only a test bank but it is basically can be used as a primary study tool because of it's top notch figures.

The only reason i got NS was because I burned through so many of the uworld questions and had a couple of months left till my mcat. NS did not provide that many detailed figures to study from. NS is exchangeable with most other qbanks. Uworld was essential for me.

I just did a sample one with the heart (LVAD) - did you use snip-it or something to copy the diagrams into Anki? Am starting use Anki (premed's psy/soc deck) and initial deck of my own (did 1 card so, don't get too excited!! 😉 ) as I've heard Anki is helpful for reinforcing content, understanding, etc.

another question, how much detail can I put into an Anki card?
