A little over a year ago, I was gearing up for the MCAT, looking everywhere to find some quality, digital notecards to use for convenient studying on my iPad and iPhone. I was a nontraditional student, always traveling between work, school, and home, so I didn't want to lug hundreds (or thousands) of paper notecards around with me. Most of what I found was unreliable, or didn't show reactions and images like you would find on the MCAT, so I ended up making my own. I spent a ton of time writing out chemical reactions, scanning them in, creating sample problems on my computer, then putting them all into notecard form. I used these notecards to prepare for the MCAT, got a competitive score (30s range), and will be starting med school this fall.
I know a lot of people are in the same situation now that I was back then, looking for a convenient and effective way to study quality material, so I decided to make my cards available online here: http://jintus.blogspot.com/p/my-store.html
Right now, I only have the Organic Chemistry cards (620 total notecards) available. The cards are just $1 per subtopic (for example, Alcohols and Phenols, or Carbonyl Condensation Reactions), most of which goes directly into the website storage, transaction, and downoad fees. To help students save money, I also made a bundle of all 23 subtopics of notecards for just $15.
I will be putting the other subjects (Inorganic Chem, Biology, Physics) up as soon as I have time to jump through the hoops of creating products, designing pages, writing descriptions, etc. Like I said, I know now is the time when a lot of premeds are taking and/or preparing to take the MCAT, so hopefully this will be a valuable resource for some of you.
