Hi

I was just wondering if the ERAS residency applications had a spot for the MCAT score? I was really hoping to not face my score again =(

Also, how big of a role does the MCAT play in evaluating potential residents?
I'm not looking for anything competitive, just IM.

Any info from people that have gone through the process would be appreciated.

to answer your question: NADA. they don't even ask about MCAT scores, nor do you send them in. say syonara to MCAT worries forever after med school.

there *are* competitive programs that do ask for MCAT scores.

This is a very common question on SDN and the search function works well.
You have an odd definition of a "common question." It didn't show up on any searches of this forum and the last time it was asked on the Gen Res forum was three years ago.

Incidentally, reading through the old discussions on it, you were the only person that had been asked for an MCAT score. Everyone else on the threads said they'd never seen it happen, even for competitive residencies.

OP- I wouldn't sweat it.

Just a clarification: there *are* competitive programs that do ask for MCAT scores. This is a very common question on SDN and the search function works well.
Asking for MCAT data in ERAS must be uncommon. How many programs ask for it, and just how "competitive" are they?

"The plural of anecdote is 'anecdotes', not 'data".

There are about 3 ortho programs that said they wanted your mcat scores. It is uncommon for a program to request it though. When they do request it you often have to send it into them directly. There is no place to send it on ERAS

I just finished filling out ERAS for this year. There is no spot in which you must provide your MCAT score. The only link for any standardized test is one to release your USMLE Step 1, 2CS and 2CK. Don't worry! 🙂
