Hi All!

I am in a bit of a limbo.
I originally planned to take MCAT Jan 2015 while taking Intermediate Physiology and Cell Biology in the Fall. In addition to classes and MCAT studying, I will be continuing working in my Research Lab.
Bad idea? I'm thinking since I already started studying for the MCAT in May by the time I reach January I will be fine.

OR

Because a shift in my fiances, I was thinking of just getting a full time or part time job and studying for MCAT until my exam day and then start picking up my research again.

Which sounds more do-able? I would really like to hear from you all who have gone through MCAT prep to help me assess the situation.

Thanks a million!!!

You won't need psychology or cell biology as long as you take the MCAT on the 8, 10 or 13 (double check those three dates). Take an easy fall load and crush that MCAT.

How do you know this? I thought the topics are randomized based on the outlines.

Thank you for your help!!! I registered for the 13th!

because it's still the old MCAT, and psych/soc./biochem isn't on it yet...although I think he said physiology not psychology

He mentioned cell bio, which is a weakness of mine on the current bio section. He pointed out specific dates when they won't be on the test. I think he meant biochem and those dates are the last of the January testing dates?

January 23 is the last date of current MCAT. After January 23 they will be starting the new MCAT edition. I called AAMC MCAT department and made sure with them. They specially assured me that the last date is January 23, 2015 of the current MCAT exam. So if I were you I would sign up for that which will give you more 10 more days of studying. 🙂
I signed up for Jan. 23 also 🙂

One thing to think about...AAMC released a form of if schools will still accept the old one or just the new one. There was only 1 school that won't take the old one for the next cycle, but if you don't get in and need to apply for the following year, there are a lot of schools by that point that are going to start not accepting it
