hi all-
I have one mcat score from april 2006 that is bad. I am retaking July 13, however I'd like to submit my primary before then. If I submit my primary before my 2nd mcat score is in, will i still get secondaries? Or should I wait until my 2nd mcat score comes in to submit? or is it only important for my 2nd mcat score to be released before I submit my secondaries? Do schools even look at your mcat before secondaries?

It seems to me that schools that do not screen will send you a secondary even before they've received your second MCAT, so it would behoove you to submit now for those schools.

I would imagine that schools that do screen will wait until your second MCAT score comes in before deciding whether to invite you. However, if you submit now then you will beat the rush of people in verification that can dramatically slow your application. Then your application will be verified and sitting on their database just awaiting the MCAT score. As soon as the score comes in, they'll review your app and invite you to do the secondary. On the other hand, if you wait to submit until after you receive the MCAT, then you will have to contend with a wait for verification, and you will be that much farther back in the line of each med school reading your app.

So, it seems like it would be best to just submit now, get verified quickly, then fill out some auto-invite secondaries while you're waiting for the MCAT score and for the other schools to invite you.
