Hi all,

I’m just wondering if this would be considered an application killer? I am re applicant from last cycle. I believe I improved every aspect of my application that was pointed out as potential lacking from a medical school advisor. EXCEPT for my MCAT. Not really sure what happened my practice test average was 511 so that’s why I went ahead with the exam in the first place. I think my nerves got to me this time. I know many of the schools I applied to review applications holistically but is this truly an application killer? I’m trying to stay optimistic especially because of my huge improvements to my application but this feels like I just shot myself in the foot. Any advice? I’ve submitted my primary for 20 realistic MDs already on June 2nd (before my score came back). Now considering DOs

Depends on the rest of your application. Its not necessarily a death sentence, although prospects for MD are quite slim as the average MCAT for MD matriculants is around 512. If everything else is stellar, you might have luck, esp with your state school(s). But its hard to judge without a WAMC

Definitely consider applying to DOs and broadly.
