I took a diagnostic 5 weeks ago and got a 482. I'm following Kaplans 3 month schedule and I just finished week 5 of content which is roughly roughly 1/3 of content complete. Is my score because I'm not done with content yet?

I read my Kaplan books and answer the questions and redo any I get wrong, Friday's I redo all the questions I did that week. I have a lot of comprehension questions I do from my phone as well for addictions practice.
Monday: Biochem
Tuesday: Biology
Wednesday: Organic + Gen Chen
Thursday: Physics and Psych
Friday: Redo all questions
Saturday: Rest
Sunday: AAMC full lengths

I take a AAMC full length every Sunday even though I'm not done with content, and seeing around the same percentage. 30ish to 40ish percent in every category. Psychology (major) is usually my best section at 40%+. When I look at the trends I'm really missing things that I haven't even seen yet.

I'm planning to take the mcat in about 6 weeks and I don't know how much I can really achieve during that time frame.

Is it normal to take practice tests without studying all of the material? That seems to me like it isn't using the practice tests to their fullest capacity. Regardless, I would reschedule the MCAT if you continue to get scores that aren't high enough for applying. That being said, six weeks is a lot of time and you can still learn a lot before your test.

I take AAMC practice exams only.
Kaplan practice tests are notoriously deflated. I would take the Next Step free full length after you've covered more of the material to judge where you're at. Their tests predicted my score very well.

You've been using up the official practice exams after doing only half the content review ??????????

The scores are not helpful at all unless you take them under exam conditions (finished review + with the actual time constraints)

Yeah, go ahead and reschedule the mcat for next spring. Hopefully you would have forgotten whats on the practice exams by then

I take them Under exam conditions every Sunday and I have section bank so I pick 59 and find myself with all aamc questions. I see now what everyone's saying.

I TAke

I assumed being 40% done with content review I should be getting 40% correct. I expected to be at a week 5/12=40% but I guess not.

Not how it works at all, because 1) most people never hit close to 100% right no matter how much review they do and 2) review is only part of it, most questions test your problem solving/critical thinking more than your recall. It will never be the case that knowing 40% more bio factoids gets you 40% more correct answers.

You gotta finish all your review, doing practice passages on the content you just covered as you go along, and then after you are fully reviewed you start doing full length practice tests! AAMC official are the best and should be saved for last. And only then will you have an idea what you will likely score on the real thing.

I can't tell if OP is trolling or not, but yeah thats not how it works. If you do trust your system it may be a good idea to take a practice test a week before your test. IT will give you a good idea of your score. If its sub 506 I would recommend postponing the test
