Hey guys,
I know there has been numerous threads on this, but there seems to be so much conflicting information, I'm just really confused. Ok, so right now I'm registered under the june 16th mcat, now I know that is not late at all. But the problem is I actually need more time to study, so the options now are july 6th, 16th, or 28th? I will be submitting my amcas by the first week in june so when is the latest I can take the mcat without it adversely affecting my application? So August 9, 16, 30 is the score release dates for july 6, 16, and 28th respectively, so when do med schools even begin reviewing applications?
Thanks alot for all your help...really appreciate it,

Most admissions committees begin reviewing "complete" application (Have verified AMCAS, letters, MCAT, completed secondaries, fees, etc.) in mid-July or early August and begin send out interview invites soon thereafter. There might be a few interviews in August but interview season really gets underway in September/October.

Having your MCAT released in late August may mean not getting the very earliest interview spots, but it shouldn't hurt significantly (if at all). What you want to avoid is taking the MCAT in late August and especially September, because then schools won't even look at you until a sizable chunk (half-ish according to LizzyM) of the interview spots have already been given away.

Although it is always better to be late but with a solid MCAT score than early with a mediocre one.

sorry to highjack, but I'm in the same boat and just wanted to clarify. Even the July 28th test date would be safe? I'm also scheduled for June 16th and the next test date in my state isn't till July 28th. Thanks!

Thank you for clarifying something that was a major point of concern for me. 👍 Yay fellow July 28th-ers!
