What are the advantages and disadvantages of taking the MCAT on Sunday instead of Saturday? Thanks

None. Plus, I think you have to have some special circumstances in order to qualify for the Sunday test.

All your friends are done with the MCAT and you're not.

well, mostly jews take it on sunday, and statistically the average IQ of a jew is relatively high. this thing is graded on a curve, so take in on saturday!

boy if that doesn't sound a little off colored.

It's funny how you can say, "don't take it with jews" but you would be in big trouble for saying other things that I dare not mention.

So you are saying that it is not a total inclusive curve, but separated by the day you take the MCAT? That would make sense if the tests were different, which I am assuming they are.

Even on the same day in the same test center and in the same room there are different versions of the MCAT. Test givers are not innocents.

The test constructors are professionals both in wording questions and answers and in using statistical techniques to adjust the raw scores to scores which account for differences in versions and day of test and for differences in exams given in past years.

It is the elaborate statistical analysis of questions and answers that accounts for the long time gap between the giving of the exam and reporting of scores to students.

There are also questions on every exam that are given only to test their suitability for future exams. These are excluded from the test scores reported to students and medical schools.

The only difference is which day you will be hungover. Personally I prefer to designate Sunday as the hangover day as opposed to Monday.

Seriously though, you will want to do some major celebrating after the test is over. Plan accordingly

I remember that saturday night...my brain was nothing but mush...I was helpless...in fact, I was so out of it I remember I just plopped down in front of the TV and watched (get ready for this) IRON CHEF!!

I'm not sure if you'll have energy to party, but some people do...I was pooped and apparently couldn't think too clearly.

I remember that night well! I went directly to bed after the test, woke up a few hours later, and went out with a group of friends to get completely, and unabashedly drunk!

I also remember one conversation from that night as clear as if I had been sober

. I asked my roommate, "Wouldn't it be weird if I actually DID manage to get accepted to med school???" And he mumbled something along the lines of "Yeah, that would be pretty f'ed up..." And here I am!

Yes, the Saturday night after the MCAT is a wonderful thing!! And I also recommend sleeping through the following Sunday!

MCAT test day was my birthday when I took it. As we stood in line waiting to get into the room, a couple friends who were in the same room with me started singing happy birthday. The proctors told me happy birthday on the way in. At the break, another friend had brought me a birthday present, and I got a card from someone else. A few people I didn't even know that were in the room wished me a happy birthday during the break. It was a pretty cool day! I had considered taking it on Sunday, so that I could have fun during those 8 hours instead, but decided that the anticipation of taking the test the next day woudl be much worse. As it gets closer to the test, you start to just want to get it over with. My advice: Take it on Saturday and get it over with!!
