Holla~ I have questions. I viewed some of the DAT preparation books. And it was far more easier than I thought. I have viewed both, the MCAT preparation and the DAT preparation and I figured that the DAT was much more easier. When I asked some of my pre-dents friends about the DAT, they didn't agreed with me. In fact, most of them thought the MCAT was easier. I heard that the MCAT requires a lot of English and the DAT requires more of mathmatics. What do you think about it guys?

Well, I took the DAT and my girlfriend took the MCAT, I think its hard to say which one is "harder" as that can be very subjective. But I can tell you that the MCAT hardly requires math, and has no perceptual ability. Perceptual ability can be very hard for some people, but with practice can be learned. MCAT has more emphasis on critical thinking and reading, whereas the DAT is much more content based, pretty much the "how much info can you fit in your head" game. So in regards to the exams there both hard and require a lot of prep, it all depends on what your strong points are.

Having taken both, i'd say the mcat is def. harder. non passage questions on the mcat are what we used to call gimmes. every dat question is really a gimme, either you know it or you dont, you don't have to read a passage and read between the lines. also the reading part on the mcat is harder, i mean for the love of rats i just got a 25 on topscore reading part test one. i never scored over an 11 on the mcat reading portion. i suck at math too but i bust on the dat, its pretty simple since there's no calc. then again i did good on the mcat too so maybe its just me..

I have taken both the MCAT and DAT. The DAT is a piece of cake compared to the MCAT. It is true that both tests require most of the same knowledge of material. However, the way the DAT tests it is much much simpler. You can study enough for the DAT and just memorize and do well. For the MCAT, it doesn't matter if you know everything. Its how well you understand it/apply it.

oh my gosh, nir, we both have nearly identical stats...pretty crazy. I agree with you and the others on this post that the mcat is definately harder than the dats.....even though there is perceptual ability on the dats. As an additional bonus the mcat is twice as long as the dats.
