Okay, so when I went onto the AAMC website to create an account to sign up for the MCAT, when I select both available dates (Sept 8 and Sept 10), the states/countries that show up are those that don't belong to me!!!

Does this mean all seats in my area are filled up? Am I SOL until the next batch of dates open up?

Dang, I didn't realize I had to sign up so early! When should I expect to sign up for the January exams so I don't miss them this time?

You need to register at least 2 months in advance. Pay attention to when the cycle for the month you want to take the test opens up on their website. The closer you are to the date the highly unlikely you will find anything near you!

you should sign up as soon as it's available if you are sure of taking it on jan.

tell me about it. I nearly had a panic attack because I needed to take one in September because I'm currently applying & the only one near me was 10 hours away. So now I'm taking a plane trip to Virginia. Cost me another $400 for the plane ticket, & another $100 for the hotel room & rental car.

Dammit...

If you can spend the dough, then I would just get the MCAT over with. Let us know how Alaska is this time of the year.

yeah this was your fault. your dates are not much more than a week away. 2 weeks out you can't make anymore changes if you were already scheduled.

Heh, well I'll definietly be on top of it now. I didn't realize I had to sign up that early. Luckily, I'm already graduated and am working, so it won't be hard to keep my skills sharp.

And it's funny to me...that's so like a premed to get hostile Of course it's my fault, I never denied it! No need to rub salt in my wound, though.

to take the Jan exam, registration should open up in early Oct.

Ya the summer slots fill up fast. And then spots open up anywhere from month to a week or two approaching the last date to change the registration August 27th for September 10th date. You just have to keep checking.

Of course, it is best to register early.

I have a question about the Jan date with those who have experience with it. Does it fill up fast too? I feel like summer does fill up fast but I myself, and friends have been able to change dates, find spots as late as August. I do not know if this would be the case for Jan. Perhaps it is more limited in January and more crucial to register when it goes up?

Bump and seconded 🙂 I don't want to miss a test date this time, so if January fills up fast, I want to be on top of it! I think I'll start checking daily as of October 1.
