Non of the MCPHS school threads seem to move. I'm starting this one in hopes of finding fellow classmates for the 2011 Fall class.

I received a letter of acceptance and hope to find more people.

It appears that MCPHS has a bad reputation from what I have read from 2007 but there doesn't seem to be any more real updates since that time.

My interview was very pleasant and the staff and students were very up front about the course load. It's pretty intense but you know what you're signing up for.

I see so many threads for other schools that move regularly. Lets see if we can do the same here.

Any MCPHS Manchester applicants get accepted for the 2011 class here? Lets get together! 😀

no one? any body?

I'm also looking for apts in manchester.....

Any one know the area or looking to room?

I will be interviewing at manchester next week. Any tips on the interview process?

Just be yourself.

Once you arrive you will be taken to a room with a packet of information about the school along with your name tag. Once all the applicants have arrived, Amy will come in to introduce herself and explain the writing sample to you guys.

You have 30 minutes to complete the writing sample. You have a list of writing topics to choose from. They are pretty standard topics. The important thing here is to be able to state your point clearly. They are just wanting to know if you can effectively get an idea across.

After the writing sample you are then introduced to the Dean of the program and two Pharm D students. You are then lead on a tour of the facilities and the distance learning is explained to you. Everyone is very nice and you're free to ask questions along the tour.

At the end of the Tour you're split up and you're paired with your respective interviewer. You then go into your interview.

The interview is pretty laid back. It is open file so they have already read your info. Take your time and think about your answers before giving them. Be honest and you should be ok. If you have any specific questions just send me a message.

Hope that helps you some. 🙂

I have interview from MCPHS ( Boston) and I asked for help on the link, but no one answer. Since I saw members from Manchester are more helpful, I would like to ask whether the interview structures from Boston and Manchester are the same ? If they are, I can just look at the questions from Manchester to prepare for my interview.

Thanks ahead.

You're right about the MCPHS threads. They don't really move at all. I've posted in many other MCPHS forums and no one ever answers. maybe they just don't frequent this site. It's so odd.

I can't really speak on MCPHS Boston. I'm really sorry I can't help you. I'm pretty sure that their interview structure is very similar to the Manchester campus.

These were the questions that I got asked;

1. I've read your file but tell me a little bit about yourself.

2. What got you interested in pharmacy?

3. What do you think a pharmacist does?

4. How would you rate your level of communication?

5. Was there ever a time that you were involved in a conflict? And how did you handle it?

6. What type of volunteer work or medical experience do you have? If none then why?

7. MCPHS (Manchester) is an accelerated program, do you think you can handle the course load?

8. How do you handle and deal with stress?

I hope that helps.

I would like to see more MCPHS students, wether from the
Manchester, Worchester or Boston campus to chime in. There doesn't seem to be too much support for our schools on the forums......🙁

Just got my acceptance. Ptech are you from the manchester area. I need to start looking into housing options.

No I'm not from the area.

I'll be heading to Manchester this July to look at apartments. I've already contacted a few places.

The rent seems to average from $650-$750 for a studio or a one bedroom apt. I've looked at the surrounding cities too. Its a bit cheaper away from Manchester. Most cities are about 15-30 minute drive to Manchester.

Let me know if you find any good places. Maybe we can room together. It would save on rent and utilities if we can find a decent place. If not at least we can live near one another.

It's so weird how no one from any of the MCPHS schools ever post on here. All the other schools already have students meeting on facebook and setting up living arrangements together.

Thank you very much for your response. I am from CA , specifically from UCSD and this is my first out of state interview. I will try to prepare for my interview based on your suggestion.
Your response does really helpful🙂)))

^^Cool. I just started looking at places online myself. It will be a good idea to share. I dont understand why this thread doesnt have a lot of people since the school admits on a rolling basis.

Anyway I'll let you know what I find.

Cool. When do you plan on heading out to New Hampshire to look at the apts?

I'm aiming for late july, like a week or two before the month ends. Ideally it would be nice to have a place by the first week of august.

Yeah I'm hoping to move in by the 1st or 2nd week of august.

This thread does not move at all.

Tell me about it. I sent in my deposit. The facebook page is sent to you when they receive it. I just joined it. Hopefully that moves a lot more.

I mailed my deposit and got the facebook link. I requested to join too. I see it already has about 40 members so hopefully thats a lot more active.

Yes, it's much more active on facebook. What's your name, I'd like to add you as a friend. 🙂

If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take you to get a reply after you applied to the school?
