Hey guys,
I am accepted to both MCPHS (Worcester) and Shenandoah (Virginia). I wanted to hear opinions about which might be a better choice? MCPHS is a 3 year program while Shenandoah is 4 year. I am also interested in doing a residency later. All opinions/advice are welcome. Thanks!

you should search the school-specific threads for information on both schools. that being said, I've only seen bad things being said about MCPHS. If I were you, I would choose Shenandoah. Also, I would rather go to a 4 year school than a 3 year one just so you can enjoy your breaks and not be studying year round

I would choose Shenandoah. I go to a 3 year school and just to clarify everyone gets the first 2 weeks of summer off and then everyone gets another 4 weeks off in summer, sometimes right after the 2 weeks off other times the middle or end of summer, but 6 weeks off in the summer seems more than enough. Plus we get just over 2 weeks off for christmas. Also a week off in the middle of each semester. Our first summer we're just doing IPPE so it's not like your sitting in a classroom and who cares about the secon summer because it's your last time sitting in a classroom because as soon as you're done with it, you're going out for your final year of rotations. 10 week semesters go by fast, I like it.

I was wondering if any current students/ recent graduates or pharmacists can share their experiences at the MCPHS pharm school without sugar coating. There are many comments on SDN stating that the school fails out many students; they don't have time for internship, and that its accelerated curriculum is causing the clinical side to be overshadowed. However, most of these posts date a while back, so I was looking for more recent opinions as things could have been changed.

If you can please share the pros and cons of MCPHS, it would be greatly appreciated for all applicants currently interested in their program. Thank you!
