This has been discussed a couple of times before, but not to a great extent.

There are a few OMFS programs that accept MD applicants, are there that many medical students who apply to these programs? I'm sure the competition is fierce enough for the DDS applicants, how would the MD guys fare?

Besides Baylor, Louisville, and U of Alabama, are there others?

I'm pretty sure UConn has one. I think two UConn med grads matched into the program last year.

come on you dents, I know you're in here

What is OMFS?

Most of the prestigious 6 yr OMFS residency program requires DDS first... and then you do your MD in along with residency. It is much better that way.. if you get your MD already, most programs see you as NOT A GOOD FIT.
I am working for an OMFS residency director, it's really competitive, my school only takes in 4 residents per yr.
I know someone who received her MD as an FMG, the most she can do at that point was to apply a fellowship in head and neck surgery.
