(Sorry this is so long!) I'd like to go either MD or DO- chances?

Your GPA looks good for most DO schools, a little under the average for MD; however with a good MCAT score im sure that can be made up for. Also you should look to get more clinical experience, but being an EMT will take care of that I think. Be sure to get some good LORs and some shadowing experience before applying.

Also, its hard to gauge your app without an MCAT score to look at. Good Luck!

1. "Top 20 public university" means nothing
2. SAT means nothing for MCAT.
3. Your GPA is low for MD, and a little low for DO.
4. You have no shadowing, no volunteering, and minimal community service.
5. WAMC threads without GPA/MCAT are as useful as a car with no wheels.

Strongly suggest more patient contact experience; get the GPA >3.6 and MCAT >30, and you should be good to go for many MD schools. But as of right now, GPA is doable for low-tier schools like NYMC and Rosy Franklin.

Your GPAs are fine for DO schools as is.

1. "Top 20 public university" means nothing Agree
2. SAT means nothing for MCAT. Agree
3. Your GPA is low for MD Agree, and a little low for DO. I think you're ok for DO GPA wise but you need DO shadowing/LOR for most schools and a decent MCAT.
4. You have no shadowing, no volunteering, and minimal community service. Agree, IMO this is huge but you have time to improve this with some effort.
5. WAMC threads without GPA/MCAT are as useful as a car with no wheels. Agree, however you are doing many things right and simply need to work on a couple things including doing well on the MCAT .

Good luck!
