So I read Neuronix's stickied post but had some questions about narrowing down my school list and any help from people familiar with the process would be very appreciated. Here are my stats (along with the ok/excellent from Neuronix's thread).

cGPA: 3.7 (Ok)
MCAT: 36+ (Excellent)
Research: 3 years (Ok)
Shadowing: 200-300 hours of clinical shadowing.

My main questions are about whether my GPA will hurt me at Top 10 schools where it is below the accepted average (UCSF, WashU, Duke, etc.). Should I mainly focus on applying to lower/mid-tier schools or do I have a good shot at landing at one of the Top 20 schools?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I think anyone would tell you to include a good array of low/mid tier schools but then to add as many top 20 schools as your wallet can comfortably afford. Yes your GPA will hurt you at many places but since you have an upwards trend and good research/mcat, if you have the time and money, you might as well try.

you're in good shape dude...... i wouldn't even go so far to say the gpa would hurt you with the strong research and more than adequate mcat. just don't only apply to those kinds of programs because nobody should.
