I have my first (and only) MSTP interview in two weeks - I've started reviewing papers, etc. but I wanted to know what the interviews were like - are they going to grill me until I don't know the answer to their question, or is it more laid back? Am I going to have to know all about the people interviewing me? (I was just given a list of names by my PI). I tried going to the interview review site on SDN, but there weren't any MD/PhD interview reviews for UAB, and it's a pain to go through all of the other schools looking to see who interviewed for dual degree programs.

www.intransit.us has some good info.

UAB is pretty relaxed and very cool. Just be able to explain your research well.

I think our program has more people on SDN than any other. That should figure into the rankings somehow (if there were any).

Clinick--

Go to the website www.intransit.us

Click on program reviews and scroll down until you see a link for the University of Alabama Birmingham. There you will find a description of the interview vist.

I went to that site - it actually made me a lot more enthusiastic about UAB. I guess there's a good chance I'll see you guys next week 🙂 I'm showing up a day early to go over some stuff with my PI (Estevez, if any of you guys know him), so I think that means I'll be okay. Thanks for your help.
