MD/PHD waitlist question

Hi,

I have been accepted to my second choice MD/PhD program and waitlisted to my first choice.

With the April 30th deadline coming up should I commit to enroll to my second choice? I am aware that other schools that accepted or waitlisted you know that you have committed to enroll somewhere. Will this hurt my chances of being accepted off the waitlist at my first choice?

Commit to enroll means you take yourself off of all other waitlists, plan to enroll means that you are eligible to stay on other waitlists.

Each program has slightly different timing as to when they require you to select commit to enroll (as far as I know).

If you want to remain on the waitlist for the other program, yes.
