Hello,

Sorry if a similar question to this has already been discussed in the forums. I was unable to find anything that directly answered my question.

I have an MCAT score of 500 with an undergrad GPA of 3.42

I am would like to get opinions as to the best MD schools who would take interest to me with these numbers. I know there are schools with no minimum MCAT scores or minimum GPA, and also schools who have minimum scores less than mine above.

Any advice as to schools who regularly accept students with scores in this range would be appreciated. Hopefully a list of 20 or so schools to consider would be appreciated. Maybe including schools with highest acceptance rates, or high out of state acceptance rates.

Your state of residence will be helpful here.

Even so, your stats are well below any average for any US MD school. (National matriculant average is ~3.71, 510-511ish)

Your best chances lie in the DO path.

Honestly, not much hope for MD. May have a chance if you live in Nevada, Mississippi, or one of the Dakotas.

That score is lethal for MD schools (unless you live in a very lucky state, like NM, ND, SD or MS) , but OK for DO. Skip the coastal Touros, CCOM and AZCOM.

What schools are well known to have a high In-State or Regional acceptance rate over out of state acceptance rate? Or which schools have particularly low out of state acceptance rates? Like 10% or less?

Well since you won’t answer what state you are from I suggest you use the MSAR and search yourself. This information is readily available in the MSAR. People have given you hints I guess but without information it’s impossible to advise you appropriately. Good luck!
I am sorry. I wasnt trying to ignore the question, I just was hesitant because it was advised to stay as anonymous as possible (this is my first thread on the forum). I am in Washington State from the Pacific Northwest

The GPA-MCAT grid shows that applicants with your stats have only a 15% chance for a MD acceptance so realistically only your 2 state MD schools are possible. You could receive interviews at some DO schools and I suggest all these:
PNWU-COM
ACOM
ARCOM
BCOM
LMU-DCOM
UP-KYCOM
WVSOM
ICOM
UIWSOM
CUSOM
VCOM (all 3 schools)
NYIT-Arkansas
