MDW-IL: AADSAS update

My status changed in AADSAS for MDW-IL to : Please check back on December 1 for more information regarding your decision status with this school.

This is the 1st time I saw any status from them on my AADSAS. I interviewed Oct. 18th. Anyone else have this for MDW-IL?

I think it means rejection because that's what it says for schools I've gotten rejection letters from. please check back after december 1st or something. Also, i saw some people with blank status on AADSAS already for MWU IL....but who knows

Doubt it....rumors rumors rumors. Try to keep your hands inside the ride at all times, remain calm, avoid throwing up. Besides, I think the one you're talking about was the post about Marquette that the OP accidentally titled MWU IL.

Nobody knows for sure until Dec 1

Besides, I got the note on AADSAS for MWU IL also, and they couldn't possibly reject ME....could they?

This year or last year? Because you wouldn't know it if it was this year since Dec 1st hasn't passed yet. And......just because you got rejected last year with that message doesn't mean someone didn't get accepted with this same message last year.

My bet is that it doesn't mean anything. Try not to discourage people who have their hopes up!

Right. I'm thinking that it says this when they decide to make a decision on you, which would explain the other early rejections. Now, there are acceptances and rejections. I'll bet if we asked a bunch of D1 students that were accepted last year, some of them would say they got this message.

I'm only speculating, which means I fit in nice and tidy with the rest of the SDN community.

Nope not yet. I submitted everything last week of July and have not heard anything since. I think you are right; it is probably only for those interviewed. Thanks!👍

That message means that the school has updated AADSAS with a decision. It could be a rejection, acceptance, or waitlist. My bet would be that the majority that are happening now are acceptances.

I am thinking that everyone who interviewed there has a blank under the date column and "check back on dec 1" under the decision column.

However, I'm just confused as to why Marquette has blanks and MWU doesn't. From previous years a blank most likely indicated that the school updated too early for an acceptance (hence it showed up blank until dec. 1), so it would make sense if MWU updated the portal with decisions then some of us would have blanks as well. Seems like this year there are now blanks and "please check back on dec 1." What is goin on? 😕

nope...no acceptance info on the portal here...🙁 I don't know, i feel that a lot of SDNers got that change to "check back on DEC1" and I'm pretty sure I remember them stating that MWU-IL will interview around 400 or so. If that's true, and class number is 125, then they would probably end up sending 180-200 acceptances total meaning 1/2-1/3 would be accepted. SDNers represent a small portion of students, but I believe that SDNers are in the upper echelon of applicants, therefore I'm not gonna buy that it means waitlisted or not gonna hear back...lets hope i'm right anyway...

hopefully you are right! They said at our interview they will give 300 and something acceptances so fairly high chance!

Have you interviewed with them yet?
They were late in the game...They just appeared for me on AADSAS today.

I interviewed there early November and I got the same update, with blank decision date.
Since all the ppl are in the same situation, I guess it doesn't mean anything...

Yes I think so. I think its basically to let those who have interviewed that a decision on their application will be made soon!

Well if I had to decide between the two I would look at:
1) Price (Midwestern is about 90K per year if you live on campus)
2) Location (Midwestern is 20 minutes from my house, but Nova's in FL)
3) Nova has a more established program, whereas MWU is only under initial accreditation and has not had a class graduate yet.

You got into Nova already??? Do you mean you were invited for an interview?

Nope, just accepted. I am from Chicago so I really miss it back there. Do you think MWU-IL will have a harder or easier program than Nova? I'm thinking it might be harder because they have to make sure they get accredited. I do miss it back home though.

I have no update, or even the school listed, yet for Midwestern and I applied early August. I don't think it is anything to be concerned about, although our chances of getting accepted there are slimming by the day. I think they simply haven't read our applications yet. Good luck to you.

Don't worry! Abbey said they are looking to fill maybe half to 2/3 of the class with pre-December interviews and that they won't interview throughout December. The next wave of invites and interviews will be in January.

As for the # of people interviewed, there were 12 interview dates pre-December and on each date there were 16 people. The exact number of people who were interviewed before December was 12 x 16 = 192 people.

Interesting.. she told us that they would be accepting 377 and interviewing close to 450 total so maybe we will all get an acceptance!
