Hey guys, this is my first (of many, i'm sure) posts here, so i figured i'd say hello to y'all. I'm 19, a undergrad soph at Pitt, an EMT-B/Firefighter. I'll be declareing my bio major (not sure about micro-molecular yet) at the end of this semester. My grades admittedly suck. My GPA is a 2.2 right now. Now this is where I sort of stand out it seems. I know thats no where near good enough for an adcom to even look at the rest of my app, but for some reason, I KNOW i'm going to get those two letters after my name. The rest of my app looks pretty good, I've got some good reco's and i'm currently doing research at columbia, in an immunology lab. with some hard work, and a lot of luck, i should be alright. I really don't think anyone should feel like they don't have a chance. Keep working hard, and you'll do fine

at least you've got a little bit of time to pull up that GPA... keep up the hard-work attitude and I'm sure you'll be fine.

I had to kick myself in the ass after sophomore year, too 🙁
