MED/Dental problem

you did it to get your parents off your back?? Would you go to Med school to get your parents off your back too?

Is dentistry what you really want to do or are you still unsure?
I wouldn't know what to do...I would be afraid to tell because it might make them think you're using dental school as a back up, but if you don't tell and they find out, you'll be in trouble...

tough one. I say be honest from the start.

I am not very experienced at this, However I do know that such things are highly important to some schools. ANd if you didn't mention that you applied to other schools this can be considered dishonesty and you might have problems later on in your education. I read a story once that mentioned a student in dental school was thrown out of a dental school for this.
But again I am sure there is a reseanoble solution to this. Anyone?

If you are sure dentistry is for you, go dentistry.

If your grades and board scores are good enough in dental school, you can enroll in a 6-year oral surgery residency after DS and earn an MD too. Having both a DDS and MD degrees are normal for oral surgeons.

I'd call school and update your file, or maybe send an e-mail. If they want to bring it up at the interview they will

I dont thikn its a big deal. You sent out your Adsass before the med school apps right? So when you ssent it out it was correct. I dont think most schools check, but if you are really concerned just call the schools up and tell them to update the file. one of my friends did thte exact same thing and told the adcoms in the interview that he was applying to med school to prove to his parents that he could get in but really wanted to go to dental school. He ended up turning down ULCA med for dental school, becuase thats what he really wanted to do, but his parents are happy beuase they can say look "Bob" could do either and pivked dental instead.
