Med/peds, what next after residency?

Is it worth the extra year vs General peds if am not planning to go into fellowships? If am planning to go into fellowships, does that make the one extra year a waste?

You do Med/Peds in a practice that allows that. Traditionally though I’ve seen Med/Peds people stay in academics because that’s where the jobs are. If you plan to do a fellowship, yes the extra year is a waste in my opinion.
